What began as a home-based baking business has grown into a full-service retail bakery and coffee shop in the heart of New Freedom, PA. Founded by Katie Burtt, a passionate baker with deep family roots and a heart for service, the bakery is grounded in the belief that good food brings people together.
Katie's baking journey started in her family’s kitchen, inspired by the women who came before her—her mother and grandmother—who taught her not just how to bake, but how to care for others through food. That same spirit lives on in every item we serve, from our signature cookies and cinnamon rolls to handcrafted drinks and seasonal specials
When the New Freedom bakery building became available, my husband and I prayed and felt God leading us to purchase it in January 2025. After years of running a home bakery, we’re thrilled to open our brick-and-mortar storefront and continue serving the New Freedom community we love.
Our faith is the foundation of Burtt Baking Co. Guided by Matthew 6:33, we believe that putting God first leads to true success. That belief shapes how we operate—treating each guest with kindness, offering quality food, and creating a space where everyone feels like family.
